वर्जीनिया के स्पेशल चुनावों में डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी के कन्नन श्रीनिवासन और जेजे सिंह ने जीत दर्ज की है। सीनेट के 32वें जिले से श्रीनिवासन और हाउस के 26वें जिले से जेजे सिंह की जीत ने दोनों सदनों में डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी को बहुमत दिला दिया है। वर्जीनिया में डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी की चेयरमैन सुसान स्वेकर ने कहा कि कन्नन श्रीनिवासन और जेजे सिंह को चुनकर रिपब्लिकन चरमपंथ को खारिज किया है। उनकी जीत ने सुनिश्चित किया है कि जनरल एसेंबली में हमारा बहुमत बना रहे और हम हानिकारक नीतियों को खारिज करके सभी वर्जिनिया वासियों की भलाई में योगदान देते रहें।
